Who Won’t Be Getting An Oscar Tomorrow

With the Oscars just a day away we decided to look at the actresses and actors who made a impact on the movies we saw but just didn’t make the cut.
Let’s start off with the independent film The Hurt Locker starring Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie. This movie was fantastic but it was shocking to see that Mackie who played the role of Sargeant JT Sanborn so well was not considered for an Oscar, Golden Globe, or even a Spirit Award. We are just over the moon that Anthony was nominated by Online Film Critics, Black Reel Awards and the NAACP Image Awards for best supporting actor so take that Mr. Academy.
Emily Blunt on the other hand was nominated for a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice award BUT no nod from the Academy boo hoo for them at least we can see her in 2010 starring in Gulliver’s Travelers, Wolfman, and the Adjustment Bureau.
Viggo Mortensen starred in the movie The Road which had a limited release in November 2009 so that it could be considered for a Oscar nomination too bad it didn’t work. Mortensen was seen as a contender for the Best Actor spot, especially when he was nominated for the Critics’ Choice nomination but he was left out in the cold.
Other actresses and actors who won’t be getting an Oscar tomorrow are: Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds), Melanie Laurent (Inglourious Basterds), Julianne Moore (A Single Man), Marion Cotillard (Nine), Max Records (Where the Wild Things Are), Abbie Cornish (Bright Star), Tobey Maguire (Brothers), Michael Stuhlberg (A Serious Man), Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones),
We hope next year we can see these talented actors/actress at the Oscars!
Katie Holmes Covers Elle For November

We are just loving what Elle is doing for their November issue. The theme is Women In Hollywood and Elle will feature five gorgeous woman: Katie Holmes, Renee Zellweger, Emily Blunt, Julianne Moore, and Zoe Saldana. Take a look at what Katie had to say.
On family life: “In my own life, my whole world really revolves around family. I do what I need to do, but it’s like, ‘How is everybody else doing?’ And it’s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character.”
On life as a working mom on the Broadway set of All My Sons: “Suri would sit in my lap in the makeup chair. She’d hand the wig lady the bobby pins.“
On fashion: “I love Alaïa, for sure. Stella McCartney. I like Ralph Lauren because I feel like it’s very American, and I’m pretty all-American, from Ohio. Isabel Marant and a new designer, Sari Gueron.
On the genre of film she loves most: “It can be any genre. I even like vampire movies – they just have to be well done. I want to believe in the characters. The minute it starts to feel not real, I’m not interested.”
I can’t wait to pick up the new issue to read all about Zoe Saldana! she is gorgeous. To see more quotes from Elle’s five leading ladies make sure to check out www.elle.com.
