In the July edition of Essence Magazine Queen Latifah opens up and tells us about her sexual abuse as a child. Latifah who is usually tight lipped about her personal life tells Essence how she was abused by her teenage babysitter. “He violated me,” she told Essence magazine. “I never told anybody; I just buried it as deeply as I could and kept people at an arm’s distance. I never really let a person get too close to me. I could have been married years ago, but I had a commitment issue.”
Queen Latifah did tell her parents eventually. “When I was 22, my brother died, and I knew that I couldn’t carry his death and that secret,” she says. “I had to get it off my chest. My mother felt terrible. She was kind of a country girl, so she wasn’t up on how slick people could be. When I told my dad, he said nothing.” Latifah says now that it was scary when her father didn’t respond. “He’s a man of action,” she says.
The Cover Girl said that for years she resented herself and she blamed the sexual abuse on herself. “I was a kid, and I had no power or control over the situation. I really wish I’d had the strength and the knowledge to say something sooner, because I always wondered, Did he do that to someone else? But I accept that the time for action has come and gone.”
Latifah spills the beans to Essence Magazine for more information on her weight loss and her sexuality check out the July edition on newsstands tomorrow!

The National Enquirer,,,(ehh hemm yes them) is claiming that Queen Latifah’s hidden lifestyle could be exposed because of 2 lawsuits from her former employees. Latifah’s former make-up artist and fashion stylist are suing for $1 million in unpaid salaries, according to court documents obtained by The ENQUIRER. The $1 million dollar lawsuit ransom is also supposedly for the two employees to keep their mouths shut regarding Latifah’s sexuality.
“Sources tell me the figure came from not only claimed makeup and hair treatments and consultations, but for the two women’s silence – a not-too-subtle hint at the long-rumored whispers about Queen Latifah’s alleged preference for women,” columnist Bill Zwecker wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times.
According to the suits, makeup artist Roxanna Floyd is seeking $700,000 for advising Queen Latifah on her CoverGirl line of cosmetics known as the “Queen Collection.”
Fashion stylist Susan Moses also claims Latifah owes her $150,000 for three years’ work on an intimate apparel wear called Curvation, plus another $150,000 for lost earnings as a stylist in the same three-year period.
The Queen has been dating her personal trainer Jeanette Jenkins for several years now but Latifah refuses to answer any questions regarding her sexuality.
“I don’t feel like I need to share my personal life and I don’t care if people think I’m gay or not. Assume whatever you want, you do it anyway.”
Latifah should just come out of the closet, we all know she is gay and its kinda cool to be gay nowadays.
