Chicago based United Airlines just created a new policy that could very well likely piss a lot of overweight people off. The new policy defines an overweight passenger as a person that can’t fit in to one single seat, or can’t properly buckle his/her seat belt, or anyone that can’t put the armrest fully down when seated. Within this new policy the airlines first course of action is to find two empty seats that are adjoined within the same cabin where the person can sit for free of charge. If they happen to be on a full plane and can’t find any, the person would have to buy a second seat at the original cost, or pay the cost of upgrading. If the second seat or upgrade isn’t possible, the passenger would have to book the next available flight that does have 2 seats together. That was a mouth full….no pun intended!
This being said, do you all think it’s fair for them to do that to an overweight passenger? Should they pay for 2 seats rather then one? Some are saying it’s unfair, because obesity is an actual disease. Others are saying it’s completely fair, because at the end of the day who wants to pay their hard earned money to sit on a flight and be crammed between a window and the heat of someone’s rolls against your elbows and hips.
What do you think? Is it fair? Is it wrong?

As we all know, yesterday morning we sadly lost yet another individual to reckless driving. These days laws are pushing even harder then before to nail folks driving while under the influence. Several states have even lowered the level of alcohol necessary to be considered driving under the influence. This being said, how many of us can honestly remember a day in which we too drove under the influence. Maybe you went to dinner with family, and had one glass of wine. Maybe you were the designated driver for the night out in town, and tossed back 2 or 3 beers in the beginning of the night, knowing that you had a good few hours to dance it off. I’m sure several people can say that they have done this, but is it right?
If you feel ok to drive, do you think it’s ok as long as you don’t feel buzzed? Do you know your body well enough to know if you are ok to drive? Share some of your experiences with us, and let us know your point of view.
