The 2010 Winter Olympics have been pretty tame with the exception of a few incidents. Let’s start with snowboarder Scotty Lago’s missplacement of his eh hem bronze medal around his waist, and the other with skiing team arch rivals Julia Mancuso and Lindsay Vonn. It all started yesterday when Lindsay Vonn completely wiped out during her time trials yesterday and suffered a broken thumb. The bad weather in Vancouver had caused each skiier to only have a one minute delay between each other causing Julie to stop during her extraordinary run because Vonn was still injured on the mountain. Mancuso was forced to redo her run causing her to take 18th place during her first time trial which caused some major boo-hooin’ on her behalf. Now let’s get to the drama!
Julia Mancuso had an interview with Sports Illustrated where she said:
“People are having a hard time reaching their potential because it’s such a struggle for attention. You come to meetings after races and it’s like it’s a bad day if Lindsay didn’t do well.”
So, Julia is having a hard time with Lindsay getting all of the attention after all they are calling it VonnCouver. Lindsay did feel about the whole incident and she said she wants her teammates to do well. Anyhoo, Mancuso is not having it and wrote on her wall on facebook.
“…everyone else seems to be more concerned about how we get along than we even think about it.We are all out there to ski fast and have fun. So save the drama for your mama!”
That is hilarious! but if you are telling your story to Sports Illustrated, posting crap on facebook, and wearing tiaras on the medal stand who is causing drama Miss Julia?

The grassroots efforts to get 88 year-old Betty White on Saturday Night Live could just be working. Betty White fans have even started a Facebook group entitled: “Betty White to host SNL (please?)!” with 389,000 fans ( way more people that live in St. Olaf!). Last week on Diane Sawyer‘s weekly online Daily Conversation program Betty talked about how surprised she was by the support of her fans.
“What — where did that come from?” Ms. White said. “That came out of left field. I have no idea. I’m such a technological spaz, I can’t — I don’t understand any of that stuff. And all of a sudden, all this stuff has come in, and I’m just watching it in awe.”
Lorne Michaels, the creator of SNL doesn’t comment on acts that are not booked but he did give Entertainment Weekly a hint:
‘“I hear SNL is putting together a ‘Women of Comedy’ episode that would team the former Rose Nylund with several of her younger contemporaries. Ex-SNL MVP Molly Shannon is on board, I hear, and feelers have also been put out to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.”
I can’t wait to see Betty on Saturday Night Live!

Today we decided to switch things up and chat about a pretty hot topic spreading the world like a bad cancer…..Facebook Cheating. Is it possible to cheat on Facebook? With the fact that a whopping 60%+ amount of users online in the United States have a Facebook account and the ongoing popularity of social and networking sites these days, sites have brought an entirely new element to our lives. Now people have the ability to cheat with ease. Let’s face it though, Facebook just provides an easy outlet to bump in to others looking for the same opportunities. For some it’s business, but the ongoing hype is about those using it to rekindle old flames.
What do you all think? Can Facebook be to blame for those relationships that have gone sour? Do you consider meeting people, leaving posts on someone’s walls, sharing pictures or sending flirtatious messages and pokes to be cheating? Or are other elements required?
Post your comments below and let us know what you think, and if you have been a victim or the perp.
