Thanks to The New York State Department of Correctional Services, Plaxico Burress got the opportunity to switch his sleep away camp. This morning Burress was moved from his 1 week old pad at Ulster Correctional Facility in Napanoch, NY, to his new permanent home in Rome, New York. Never heard of it? Don’t worry, neither have 99% of people that live in New York.
Thanks to the all-mighty dollar, Plaxico won’t have to stress too hard about ending up in a ….let’s say tight-end position. He’s actually being separated from the general population and staying in the long-term protective custody unit. The unit only holds 43 inmates, but it’s being said that there are only 18 prisoners there now.
We really hope he doesn’t have to catch too many passes while he’s locked up.

Today was definitely a sad day for Plaxico Burress and his family. It was the day that he had to march directly into court as a free man, and walk out as a convicted criminal. He was sentenced to two years in prison for violating New York’s tough gun laws and was immediately taken into custody following his hearing. Plaxico will likely only spend 20 of his 24 months if he has good behavior.
Plaxico showed up to the courthouse at carrying his 2 1/2 year old son, Elijah at 9:41 am this morning with his pregnant wife Tiffany Burress, his f ather; grandmother; and stepmother. Prior to his sentencing, he had asked the judge to say one last goodbye to his family, and shortly after was sentenced to an agreed 2 years in prison. Afterward, his defense attorney, Benjamin Brafman, called the case “terribly sad and very tragic.”
“This has been a very emotional experience for him,” Brafman said. “He’s sad about what he’s done to his life, his career, and more importantly to his family. He’s a fundamentally good man who has used bad judgment and is going to pay a very, very severe penalty.”
This is more than likely going to be the longest day of his life. We wish him and his family the best during these times….but at the end of the day let’s face it…Plaxico did some dumb ass sh-t. He was a guy that had it all, and he threw it away because he wanted to act tough and carry a gun. Then the fool shoots himself in the leg. Smart!
What a clown! On April 3rd The New York Giants released their best wide receiver Plaxico Burress for very good reasons. Let’s start with the fact that the fool shot himself in the leg while at a club. Yup that’s it. Manhattan’s District Attorney says that he wants Burress to serve time BUT Burress is only willing to agree to spend a year in jail. Who does he think he is? Prosecutors insisted on two years in the pen. Mr. Burress and his lawyers need to negotiate because the Manhattan District Attorney’s office is taking this very seriously.
It should be really interesting to see how this one plays out! We know he is gonna do some jail time but who knows how much.

The New York Giants have cut their star $35 million dollar wide receiver Plaxico Burress. I think it is safe to say that this was a long time coming. Plaxico in his infinite wisdom had an illegal gun tucked in his waist when it went off in NYC’s Latin Quarter nightclub, bleeding from the thigh he was taken to NY Presbytarian where he tried to bribe the medical staff at the hospital! Not to mention he gave a fake name Harris Smith (like no one is going to know he is The Plaxico Burress). New York Giants Line Backer Antonio Pierce (another bright one) hid Plaxico’s glock but he came to his senses and began working with investigators.Did I mention that before his self inflicted gunshot he was already suspended?
Burress faces two felony counts of criminal possession of a loaded and unlicensed weapon, charges that carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 3-1/2 years in prison. The Manhattan District Attorney is taking this shit pretty serious and is not taking any plea bargains from Plaxico and he is facing some jail time. Even if Plaxico gets off he is going to be suspended from the NFL for violating their conduct policy. Burress is due back in court June 15th but that doesn’t matter because he won’t be playing anyway.
