Chynna Phillips has joined the famous list of celebrities who check into rehab to deal with life’s problems. You may recall she was in the group back in the ’90′s Wilson Phillips. The Phillips are one crazy bunch. Chynna is the half sister of Mackenzie Phillips who dropped a bomb on the world on Oprah when she claimed her dad John Phillips of the famous group The Mamas and Papas had an inappropriate sexual relationship with her. Dysfunctional right? Anyhoo, Chynna supported her sister Mackenzie on the Oprah Winfrey Show stating:
“I pray that we all get closer through this crisis. With prayer, anything is possible. But I would be lying to you if I didn’t tell you that there are going to be some huge obstacles in front of us.”
We are sure that there are other reasons why Chynna checked into rehab. We wish her the best.

Earlier this week Mackenzie Phillips was on the Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss the release of her new controversial book “High On Arrival” which caused a media frenzy. This morning Mackenzie returned to the news circuit to speak about her feelings on the widely varied reactions of the public – and her family. Phillips completely understands how people can think how disgusting her story is and some condemned her while others gave her credit for having the courage to speak up and say something.
“I’m not asking you to understand and say, ‘Of course, that’s what happened.’ I’m asking you to see how it could and how it does and how this is a problem that’s going on all over the world. This is a subject that is so incredibly taboo, as well it should be, but there needs to be a dialogue about it. Covers need to be pulled. You can’t keep sweeping this under the carpet. This is affecting families all over the world.”
Phillips told Meredith Viera that she hopes that she can become an advocate for other victims of incest since the release of her book.
“I’m beginning to feel more and more that maybe I can just be a voice for this large community of incest survivors that don’t know where to go or what to do or how to talk about what happened in their lives, and the only way they know how to deal with it is to turn it inward and self-destruct. It’s time for that to stop. There’s so much damage being done to people, they’re doing the damage to themselves because of what they’ve lived through. These things can destroy a person, and I think they might be slowly eating away at the fabric of our country and our youth and I certainly am an example of both sides of it. I hope to continue to be well enough to be of service.”
Phillips received backlash from her stepmother Michelle and sister Bijou who doubted her story of incest. Bijou released a statement:
“When I was 13, Mackenzie told me she had a consensual sexual relationship with our father. This news was confusing and scary, as I lived alone with my father since I was 3, I didn’t know what to believe and it didn’t help that shortly there after Mackenzie told me it didn’t happen. I understand Mackenzie’s need to come clean with a history she feels will help others, but it’s devastating to have the world watch as we try and mend broken fences, especially when the man in question isn’t here to defend himself.”
Mackenzie maintains her story of the 10 year consensual sexual relationship she had with her father John Phillips of The Mamas and The Papas. Check out the video.

Can it get any more disgusting than a father and daughter sleeping together? MacKenzie Phillips from the great tv show One Day At A Time is releasing a new book today that goes into detail her past consensual relationship with her dad, drug abuse, arrests, and divorce. Mackenzie’s father is none other than the famous musician John Phillips of the ’60s band the Mamas and the Papas. This book is draw dropping! Take a look at what Mackenzie has to say about her sexual relationship with her father.
“On the eve of my wedding, my father showed up, determined to stop it.” writes Phillips, who was a heavy drug user at 19 and was getting married to Jeff Sessler, a member of the Rolling Stones entourage, in 1979.
“I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on Dad’s bed. My father was not a man with boundaries. He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father. Had this happened before? I didn’t know. All I can say is it was the first time I was aware of it.”
Phillips played the role Julie Cooper on the One Day At A Time from 1975-1980 when her drug addiction became out of control. After being fired from the show Phillips and her father underwent drug rehabilitiation. After rehab her sexual relationship with him had become consensual. The two even went on tour together in a band called the New Mamas and the Papas.
“I was a fragment of a person, and my secret isolated me. One night Dad said, ‘We could just run away to a country where no one would look down on us. There are countries where this is an accepted practice. Maybe Fiji.’ “
Phillips tells all in her book and she guess what? The Big O will be interviewing her today so make sure to TiVo this interview because this is going to be dysfunctional. We hope Oprah asks all of the right questions but if not High on Arrival will go into detail about her fling with Mick Jagger, what her family said about her rape accusations, and her fears that she was pregnant with her own father’s baby.
