John Edwards: I Am Quinn’s Father
It’s about time the disgraced North Carolina Senator admits it. Today John Edwards released a statement admitting he is the father of Francis Quinn Hunter the 2 year-old daughter he had with his mistress/campaign videographer Rielle Hunter.
“I am Quinn’s father. I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves. I have been able to spend time with her during the past year and trust that future efforts to show her the love and affection she deserves can be done privately and in peace. It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter and hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me. I have been providing financial support for Quinn and have reached an agreement with her mother to continue providing support in the future. To all those I have disappointed and hurt these words will never be enough, but I am truly sorry.”
What was strange about this affair and its aftermath was lying that John did to cover it and the fact that Quinn was conceived when Edward’s wife (Elizabeth) was undergoing chemo. Today, he even had his close friend/political advisor Harrison Hickman speak exclusively with NBC’s Lisa Meyer on his behalf.
“The senator wants to say, first of all, that he is the father of Quinn,” Hickman said. “Secondly, he
wants people to know that he has provided for her and will continue to provide for her, as he should, both financially and emotionally. He’s not doing this as a way to try to bring attention to himself. He’s doing this as a way … to begin to put this behind, not just him, but everybody else who’s been affected by this.”
Hickman added: Edwards bought a house for Quinn and her mother to live in in Charlotte, N.C., more than two hours away from his home in Chapel Hill. The former senator is trying to stay out of the public spotlight and focus his energy on family and doing good deeds like helping the poor.
This sure sounds weird. John has the balls to have a baby but not enough to give a face to face interview with public? How is it even possible that he has his best friend do the interview for him? Its just another bad decision to me. Elizabeth and John are separated and she is still undergoing chemo. Last summer she opened a furniture boutique store in North Carolina not too far from their home. I wish her the best.

Tila Tequila Gets Choked Out: Calls 911 On NFL Star
If Tila Tequila isn’t tonguing down some random dude or chick, then she’s spreading her short legs for a magazine shoot…or getting choked out! I suppose in this economy you need to take whatever you can get right? Earlier this morning at 3:45 am 27-year-old Tila, who’s real name is Tila Nguyen, called 911 on San Diego Chargers star Shawne Merriman. San Diego Sheriff’s were called to the scene by the queen bisexual of reality tv due to claims that she was “chocked and physically restrained” by her Merriman because he wouldn’t allow her to leave his house. The Charger was taken into custody shortly after the altercation and accused of battery and false imprisonment. His bail was set at $58,000. Tila was transported to a local hospital and released.
A lawyer for Merriman denied all charges and says Tila was “extremely inebriated” and that Merriman tried to stop her from leaving the home because he didn’t feel it was safe for her to do so.
The two were spotted earlier that night at 1 am as Tila was giving Merriman lapdances at Stingaree nightclub. A spokeswoman for the club said they were there for a friend’s birthday and that “they seemed in good spirits throughout the evening and were enjoying themselves. There was no outward indication of any problem between the two of them.”
Didn’t anyone learn from Chris “beat-a-bitch” Brown?

Arturo Gatti Committed Suicide Wife Released From Prison
It was only a day after Arturo Gatti was found dead in a Brazilian resort that the police thought his wife Amanda Rodrigues had strangled him with her purse strap while he slept. The cornoner’s report determined that Gatti had committed suicide using his wife’s pocketbook strap. Amanda Rodrigues is expected to be released today.
Gatti’s family and close friends are having a difficult believing the story. “Nobody believes whatsoever that there’s even a 1-percent chance of a suicide. He lived life to the fullest,” says Ivano Scarpa, a close Gatti family friend.
Rodrigues on the other hand knew she was innocent from the beginning and on July 15th she wrote a letter to the Associated Press that said “I’m innocent and I know that this will be proven in a few days.”

Update: Steve McNair Death Declared Murder
Steve McNair was found with 2 shots to the chest and 2 shots to the head, and now police are declaring that his death is due to murder. Police have yet to actually confirm that it was a murder-suicide, even though he was found with 4 gun shot wounds while his 20-year-old girlfriend Sahel Kazemi was found with only one shot to the head.
Authorities wouldn’t say it was a murder-suicide—even with his 20-year-old girlfriend dead at his feet from a single bullet and the gun found directly under her body. McNair did actually have a permit to carry a handgun in Tennesse, and was arrested previously with a 9mm hand gun although charges in the case were dropped. Police stated that they have yet determined who owned the gun found at the scene.
Investigators weren’t looking for a suspect but were questioning friends of the couple as well as Kazemi’s ex-boyfriend. They were also waiting for results of drug and other laboratory tests before deciding whether McNair was killed in a lovers’ quarrel.
